Job Summary:
NewEdge Advisors is looking for a highly skilled Compliance Officer to provide primary leadership and assist the compliance management of the firm in executing on both its onsite and virtual consultation / examination of advisor practices. This position will work closely with home office staff and with advisors using their understanding of compliance requirements to meet the firms obligations. The Compliance Officer will report directly to the Chief Compliance Officer.
This position will be remote but airport accessibility is a must.
Responsibilities and Duties
Partner with the Chief Compliance Officer to enhance and execute the onsite and virtual examination program for NewEdge Advisors.
Utilize custodial platforms and firm reporting in support of the consultation mission of NewEdge Advisors Compliance. Analysis of the reporting from multiple custodial sources will be necessary to implement the program.
Research, develop and integrate new procedures and technology for examination efforts.
Partner with the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and Deputy Chief Compliance Officer (DCCO) of NewEdge Advisors as needed to report findings and design remediation for identified issues from completed examinations.
Assist CCO and DCCO in the maintenance and updating of required books and records to include exam program policies and procedures. Perform testing of policies and procedures in support of the annual review requirements of NewEdge Advisors and escalate identified issues to the CCO or DCCO.
Liaise with operations and transition staff to create educational tools for transitioning advisors. Assist in presenting information regarding the compliance program and branch office requirements to transitioning advisor teams.
Partner with management and advisors in addressing compliance questions and concerns through thoughtful dialogue and inquiry to ensure proper advice and counsel is provided when needed.
Provide exceptional service to your clients the advisors of NewEdge. Be an advocate and resource for the advisors and staff of NewEdge.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of securities industry experience within organizations providing investment advisory services. A minimum of 3 years should be in leadership areas of supervision, compliance, or operations.
Experience working within a producing branch office environment is a plus.
A strong knowledge of securities industry operations will be preferred.
Series 7, 65/66. Series 9/10 or 24 are preferred.
A four (4) year college degree is required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM applications strongly desired.
Must have the ability for overnight travel on a significant basis (in excess of 50% of the time) to perform assigned consultations or to attend industry conference / education events.
