Job Summary:

The Custody Asset Management and Control Team handles customer transactions within our custodial platforms, the client facing cashiering and tax reporting. We handle cashiering processing: checks, wires, ACH/EFTs, transfers/journals, and associated transactions within and between the client accounts.

The Treasury Management Manager responsibilities include supervising, tracking, and evaluating day-to-day activities of their direct reports on the Wealth Management side of the Custody Asset Management and Control Team and working to allocate tasks evenly. They will help with developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information.

The ideal Manager should possess excellent management and interpersonal skills as well as strong understanding of accounting and management principles and financial and tax legislation. They should be technically proficient in SEC, FINRA, and IRS regulations governing the financial industry; an individual with the utmost professional and personal integrity; ability to prioritize work, identify issues, solve problems, and assess risk.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Serves as point of contact for situations regarding guidance and intervention of a more senior person.
Assists in recruiting and hiring accounting and financial staff and conducts performance evaluations.
Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff.
Directs the work of employees in lower job classifications.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

Strong all-around understanding of the securities industry; Understands regulatory and tax issues related to client brokerage accounts
Oversee daily operations of their direct reports; Process driven with the ability to deliver and meet all deadlines.
Possess flexibility and a collaborative approach.
Perform ad hoc analysis and project work as requested; Self- starter capable of working on multiple deliverables with minimal supervision.
Become well versed in the systems utilized by the staff; Knowledge of National Financial Services LLC or Fidelity processes and systems a plus.
Document internal operating procedures. Assist with developing and implementing procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes to enhance fraud prevention and risk mitigation programs. Assist with responding to auditor requests
Monitoring appropriate reconciliations and reports to ensure proper books and records are kept and all standards are being met; escalating and resolving any issues in a timely manner.
Respond to and resolve escalated client inquiries timely; Actively participate in client meetings or conference calls; conduct web-based demos
Perform review of monthly team goals before submission to Team Leader;
Monitor regular performance of direct reports; Assist with annual reviews and evaluations of personnel supervised
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
Some limited travel may be required

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

A minimum of five years of experience in a Staff Accounting and/or Broker Dealer Cashiering or Operations position
Experience in overseeing staff
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
Current Series 27 License or ability to obtain within 3 years of hire is preferred.
Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes, and technology;
Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environment with tight deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software; Ability to manipulate large amounts of data; knowledge of data analysis techniques; Strong numeracy and analytical skills

Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and management principles.
Excellent understanding of US tax regulations as well as brokerage and retirement regulations and willingness to comply with all local, state, federal, and company regulations.
