Job Summary:

NewEdge Advisors is looking for a highly skilled service-minded Compensation Specialist with a positive attitude who enjoys problem-solving and meeting the needs of our advisor base and their clients. The Compensation Specialist will lead the advisory compensation process for a busy, growing RIA. This person is responsible for ensuring all IARs are paid accurately and on time every month. This person will be responsible for managing a system that calculates and processes compensation, and documenting procedures for monthly advisory compensation. This person should be a skilled multi-tasker with excellent time management, computer, and communication skills. We are looking for someone to take ownership of their role within the company and someone who takes pride in their work. The Compensation Specialist will report directly to the Sr Manager of Financial Operations. The position will ideally be in New Orleans, LA or can be performed remotely for the right candidate.

 

Responsibilities:

Work directly with advisors on the setup and maintenance of 3rd party accounts within Orion, Salesforce and AdvisorBob.
Work as a liaison between the RIA product and compensation team to ensure relationship is approved and compensation has all required items.
Track representative, client demographics and billing information for each new relationship.
Ensure client agreements are on file and work with advisor locations if they are missing.
Create documentation per vendor on overall Onboarding process.
Analyze monthly fee revenue and advisory compensation to ensure advisors are paid accurately and timely.
Reconcile transactions & fees by collecting and comparing data from multiple sources including custodial platforms, Orion, AdvisorBOB, and other systems.
Problem-solve complex data and compensation scenarios including split payments, overrides, premium model basis point charges, Orion data feeds and adjustment calculations.
Navigate multiple custodial platforms and locate relevant reports, tools, and technology; train advisors on custodial platform reporting capabilities.
Assist in monthly, quarterly, and yearly quality control checks and audits.
Provide a high level of client service to our advisor teams.
Respond to internal and external inquires in a timely manner.
Communicate with vendors in an effective and professional manner.

 

Skills & Qaualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
Five to seven years of financial services and/or accounting experience preferred
Experience within the financial services industry highly preferred, whether working in an RIA or within a multi-custodial environment
Familiarity or experience with LPL Financial, Raymond James, Schwab and/or Fidelity
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office including expertise in Excel
Experience with Orion, AdvisorBOB billing and compensation software strongly desired
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Flexibility to work additional hours if required
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
Series 7 is a plus
FBI background check required
Ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks within established timeframes.
