Job Summary:
The Senior Business Analyst with American Trust Retirement Services supports the development of our market differentiating software solutions for internal and external users of Retirement Plan software solutions. The Senior Business Analyst is a team player that will work across the entire Retirement division to collaborate with stakeholders and scrum teams to understand and translate our customer’s business needs into technical requirements.
Responsibilities:
Understand customer requirements through sessions, interviews, document analysis, business process descriptions, business analysis, task and workflow analysis, online research, data analysis, and/or code analysis.
Create user stories, use case diagrams, acceptance tests, etc. to communicate high-level technical functions and requirements and ensure alignment with product strategy and roadmap
Coordinate, schedule, facilitate, and participate in customer enhancement-focused collaboration sessions, Scrum meetings and sprint planning meetings, with internal and external audiences.
Organize review of requirements with users, developers, product management and architecture teams.
Decompose high-level information into details, and documents refined, actionable, functional requirements.
Assist software development teams in the architecture of systems, by providing process flow diagrams, business documentation, and/or technical documentation.
Analyze existing processes to identify gaps and areas of improvement. Work with other departments to create, develop, and implement process improvements with an enterprise-wide focus.
Assist with product documentation.
Assist Product Owners with training to system users as new system enhancements are released.
Mentor Business Analysts to ensure appropriate business analyst standards and practices are met when appropriate.
Assist software development teams in the quality assurance of systems by providing test plans with test cases and supporting the business during testing efforts with user acceptance testing.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field. In lieu of degree, 5+ years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst required.
5 years of experience as a Business Analyst with advanced knowledge of business analysis, standards, and project delivery practices.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Experience in various software development lifecycle management methodologies (Agile Scrum, Kanban) using tools like Microsoft Azure DevOps or Jira for business requirements documentation.
Experience working with financial products and systems preferred.
Experience in SQL scripting to perform data analysis and query data preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive collaborative relationships with business stakeholders.
Analytical, with problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skills.
Must be detail-oriented and have excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
Expected to perform independently and exercise good judgment.
Certification in CBAP, CSPO, PSPO, or CSM preferred
